Be Memorable and Increase Response Rates with Vanity Phone Numbers

As you are driving down the road, which license plate do you remember? The one that says AH 78430, or the one that says MYCAR? We all remember MYCAR instead of the other one! In fact, we probably stop to actually read the license plate that says MYCAR instead of the other one? Why? We are drawn to the words that make sense.

As you are driving down the road, which billboard will you remember? The one that has five sentences, a 10-digit phone number and a URL address, or the one that says GET A NEW FORD TODAY. Call 1-800-NEW-FORD? We all remember the FORD billboard because it’s short and to the point. We can remember it. We probably didn’t even bother trying to read the other billboard…. Read more »

800 Vanity Numbers Are Easy On the Mind

Did you watch the latest episode of The Amazing Race? If not, here is the scene: the contestants are in race cars as a professional driver is going around the track at high speeds. The contestants must remember a name and a set of numbers. The trick is they are going at a high speed and the numbers are not written in a way that is easy to remember. Some of the contestants were very stressed trying to remember the numbers.

How does that relate to 800 vanity numbers? Unlike the numbers the contestants were trying to remember, vanity numbers are easy to remember – they are easy on the mind. On that scene from The Amazing Race there was one person who kept reversing two of the numbers. That is very difficult to do with vanity numbers. People will remember the number…. Read more »

Two New Success Stories with Vanity Numbers in Advertising Campaigns!

Here at 800response, we’re fortunate to work with wonderful businesses who understand the power of using easy-to-remember response tools, or hooks if you will, as the call-to-action in their advertising campaigns. We recently spoke with two customers; one that has been with us for over 13 years, and another that we’ve had the pleasure of working with for just a few months.

Here’s what they tell us:

“The incoming calls we get are very valuable to us, and the increase in the number of calls we get each month by advertising with 1-800-NEW-RATE contributes greatly to our success. Customers can visit our website and contact us through the online form, but having live conversations with people is much better in this business. There are too many options and too much information to communicate to someone effectively over an email, so we prefer to talk to our customers to establish a relationship and provide the best service we can to meet their mortgage needs.”Read more »

Failing at Customer Service? Drive Customers to Call You

According to the 2012 American Express Global Customer Service Barometer survey, the majority of Americans prefer to use the phone to communicate with the companies they do business with. The study statistics show that although technology and digital communications have evolved tremendously over the years, ‘old school’ communication is what we want for our customer service needs.

Quality personal connections still matter most: For issues like product assistance or returns, about 65 percent of customers prefer live phone or in-person assistance. For even more serious matters, that number jumps to 76 percent.Read more »
